Perceptibly or imperceptibly, the soap operas help to create and rationalize some century-long stereotypes about women. It is needless to say that these stereotypes are often negative and regressive. To combat this problem we have two options before us. Either we have to change our choice of soap operas or the portrayal of women could be from a more realistic, unbiased, neutral and progressive point of view.
